Fanòi Negroamaro
In another era, bonfires would dot the nighttime landscape of Puglia during cooler months. They represented an essential convivial moment for the people who inhabit this land: As it lit up the night sky, the bonfire was a way for them to come together and socialize, to keep each other warm, and to share a glass of wine and a bit of food on a winter evening.
Cantele’s Fanòi Negroamaro, made from a selection of top fruit from one of our best vineyards, is named after those traditional bonfires because the wine itself is a nod to one of the grandest traditions of Salento winemaking. Like the flames and sparks that rise from those bonfires, this fresh and food-friendly wine is lithe and lively in the glass, with vibrant eye-popping notes of ripe black fruit, tobacco, and eastern spices. A favorite pairing for roast or stewed lamb, its versatility at the table also make it a wonderful match for a wide variety of cuisines, including Asian and New American.
The Cantele Fanòi Negroamaro is made from a single vineyard site selected specially to make what many consider to be the best Negroamaro produced in Puglia today.

Note di degustazione
COLORE: Intense ruby red.
NASO: Nuanced and sumptuous notes that reflect the vineyard’s nobility. Myrtle berry, thyme, and marjoram are just some of the aromas that emerge together with fully ripe red fruit and a note minerality that evokes the presence of the sea, the holy water of the south.
PALATO: At first, the wine is delicate, with the classic balance of acidity and savory character typically found in Negroamaro. Structured still youthful tannins then emerge followed by intense vibrant notes that evoke a sunset of flavors. This wine rewards the drinker with a trail of slowly evolving savory notes and a distinctive finish of minerality that only Salento’s unique terroir can deliver.
