Rohesia Brut Rosé
Cantele once again made history when it became one of the first Pugliese winemakers to produce a classic-method wine from Negroamaro, Rohesia Brut, its first-ever sparkling Negroamaro.
On the heels of the success of its still Rohesia (a rosé made from a meticulous selection of Negroamaro grapes), it was only natural that the Cantele family would push the envelope of Pugliese by making the first premium sparkling wine to come from the region.
Together, the two wines — Rohesia Brut Rosé and Rohesia Rosé Pas Dosé — have been called some of the best wines produced in Puglia today by critics on both sides of the Atlantic. Not only do they show the depth and nuance that Negroamaro can attain when approached with technical expertise and the right enological sensibility, but they also demonstrate the noble character of this grape variety.
Made using the same techniques used in Champagne, the Rohesia Brut Rosé has a slightly yeasty nose and rich fruit flavors balanced by nuanced savory character. It’s a truly unique and unforgettable expression of this ancient grape.
While the Brut spends 30 months on its lees in the Cantele cellar before being disgorged and released, the Pas Dosé is lees-aged for no less than 5 years (60 months). The extended aging gives this wine remarkable complexity and depth, making it a favorite among sparkling wine connoisseurs.

PALATE: Rich, smooth, and full-bodied. Fresh, vibrant notes of pomegranate and underripe cherries. Delightfully mineral finish.
