We are thrilled to announce that Rohesia Negroamaro Rosato 2024 will be the first wine from our winery to feature a screw cap closure. This is a forward-looking choice, despite the traditional skepticism of Italian consumers towards this technology. However, we firmly believe that innovation and quality go hand in hand.

Back in 2020, when we upgraded our bottling line, we had already planned to introduce an alternative closure system. Today, with the adoption of the VinTop screw cap, developed by Alplast (a leader in high-quality wine and food closures) in collaboration with Vinventions (a global leader in complete wine closure solutions), that vision becomes a reality.

A New Standard in Protection and Design

This innovative closure combines modern, elegant design with exceptional protection: its ultra-low oxygen permeability (OTR < 0.1 mgO2/year) outperforms traditional closures by over ten times.

Quality and Sustainability at the Forefront
• 100% recyclable material with no loss of quality over time.
• No need for a traditional capsule, further reducing our carbon footprint.

According to a Nomisma Wine Monitor survey, 55% of consumers consider aluminum more sustainable than cork, and 70% appreciate the convenience of screw caps. Globally, this closure is now used in 40% of wines, including premium segments. In New Zealand, for example, screw caps are the standard, sealing 100% of Sauvignon Blancs and the majority of Pinot Noirs. In Europe, more and more high-end wines are adopting this technology.

Freshness and Longevity: The Added Value of Screw Caps

A screw cap is more than just an alternative closure—it is a technological choice that enhances the wine’s quality over time. Here’s why:
1. Oxygen Protection
Oxygen is wine’s greatest enemy. Even small amounts can alter aromas and compromise freshness. Screw caps minimize oxygen ingress, keeping the wine stable and preserving its aromas and character for years.
2. Guaranteed Longevity
Unlike other closures, screw caps provide consistent protection over time. They are ideal for young wines that showcase vibrant freshness and fragrance, but also suit wines with aging potential, ensuring their evolution is controlled and nuanced, even years after bottling.
3. Reliable Tasting Experience
A screw cap guarantees consistency. Every bottle is perfectly preserved, eliminating the risk of cork taint or variations caused by faulty closures. This is a reassurance for producers and a guarantee for consumers.
4. Perfect for Any Occasion
The convenience of a screw cap, combined with its ability to preserve wine even after opening, makes it ideal for those who want to enjoy their wine at their own pace, with confidence in its lasting quality.

With Rohesia 2024, we want to prove that tradition and innovation can coexist, ensuring the highest level of quality and elegance for our rosé.

Rohesia: The Rose of Puglia, Told Through Geometry

After ten years, Rohesia is also getting a new look, with a redesigned label that reflects the evolution of the wine and our increasingly modern vision. Once again designed by Elisa Costa (labeldesign.it), this refined and contemporary graphic identity marks the next chapter in Rohesia’s journey—where tradition and innovation blend seamlessly, celebrating its quality and distinctive identity.

The name Rohesia comes from medieval Latin and means “rose”—a word that embodies delicacy, grace, and mystery. The label reinterprets this universal symbol of beauty and elegance through a geometric pattern that is more than just a design—it is a stylized representation of the flower itself.

Each triangle represents a petal, forming a unique rose—a symbol of grace and harmony. The copper and rose hues evoke the warm glow of sunset over the Negroamaro vineyards, the beating heart of Rohesia. The petals interlock and dance, carried by the wind across the Salento plains, telling the story of a land rich in tradition, passion, and craftsmanship.

This modern design, defined by sharp, precise lines, represents a new way of interpreting tradition—a balance between past and present, craftsmanship and innovation. The geometry is not cold but alive, reflecting the wine’s complexity, structure, aromatic depth, and finesse.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
